COVID-19 PROTOCOL
The Shack Student Center will follow the COVID-19 guidelines mandated at all Anderson County District schools per the State of South Carolina.
STUDENT CAPACITY
The Shack Student Center will serve 50 students per day.
If The Shack Student Center is at full capacity with 50 students enrolled and attending, any additional students will be placed on a waiting list until a seat opens for them.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
On the first day that the student attends The Shack Student Center, the student will be given a student ID card for check-in purposes. Students are required to check-in using their ID card on the days that they will attend The Shack Student Center from that day moving forward. The student ID card is the responsibility of the student.
Check-In begins at 4pm. The student must be checked-in by 4:29pm. At 4:30pm, the doors of The Shack will be closed for security purposes.
The parent/guardian is responsible to pick-up the student each day after check-out at 6:30pm. If he/she is unable to pick-up the student in emergency situations prior to check-out, the emergency contacts provided on the application are able to pick-up the student with a proper picture ID.
GENERAL SAFETY
No adult is to ever be alone with a student. The adult to student ratio is 10 students per 1 adult.
Nametag stickers are worn by all volunteers after checking in using their issued barcode ID cards. Lanyards that identify the volunteer’s role are also worn by all volunteers after checking in.
Anyone visiting or touring The Shack Student Center must obtain and wear a nametag sticker and be escorted by an Overseer at all times. Any visitor without a nametag sticker will be asked to leave.
All Overseers and volunteers are trained in the following Emergency Areas:
Medical (all overseers are CPR and First Aid trained)
Sick Students
Weather
Fire
Missing Students
Media
Suicide Intervention
Unusual Incident
PARENT NOTIFICATION
Parents/Guardians will be notified under the following circumstances:
A parent/guardian will be called by the Overseer if the student is a danger to herself/himself or other students.
A parent/guardian will be called by the Overseer if there is an emergency situation concerning the student.
A parent/guardian will be called by the Overseer in the event that a student’s behavior becomes totally disruptive and the student refuses to cooperate.
STUDENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
Discipline is establishing boundaries of acceptable and unacceptable behavior.
Students in The Shack build each other up in their words and actions.
Cursing, foul jokes, crude humor, and bullying will not be tolerated in The Shack.
Students in The Shack are good stewards. They take care of the resources around and others belongings around them as if they were their own.
Vandalism, stealing, and damaging others belongings will not be tolerated in The Shack.
Students in The Shack are honorable, respectful, and kind.
Dishonor, disobedience, and disrespect will not be tolerated in The Shack.
